Welcome to Brightlingsea Junior School

Schools Association

Brightlingsea Infant and Junior Schools Association

We are a registered charity aiming to raise funds to increase the quality of our children’s educational experience through fun and memorable events for all the family.

Our main events are the Christmas, Easter and Summer fayres but we also hold school discos, social events, coach trips and an end of year prom for year 6 children.

In the past over £8,000 per year has been raised for both schools which has been spent on TV and Video Equipment, Interactive Whiteboards, Computer Equipment, Library and Books, Playground and PE Equipment, Theatre Trips, In School Visits By Performers and Building and Structural Work.

We consist of a core committee with a number of other regular and floating members. Meetings are held once a month when forthcoming events and ideas are discussed and organised.

We welcome all new and existing parents and carers and urge anyone who wants to have a bit of fun whilst working towards a good cause to get involved in the organisation, running and attendance of our events. It’s a great way to make new friends and contribute to your child’s education.

You can do as much or as little as you wish, from organising whole events to  folding raffle tickets in the comfort of your home or just attending our fun and varied events throughout the year.

ALL HELP AND SUPPORT IS GREATLY RECEIVED AND WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU IN ANTICIPATION FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THE FORTHCOMING YEAR.

In the Junior school, funds raised by the Schools' Association helped to pay for the canopy shown in these photographs. This is used as a waiting area for parents, a shelter for pupils during inclement weather and an outdoor classroom that can be used all year round. Previous donations have enabled us to purchase a child friendly greenhouse and set up a school allotment, not to mention our very popular school pet enclosures. More recently donations have allowed us to purchase beanbags for the reading areas in all classrooms and a new style interactive whiteboard. Further photographs of projects funded by our Schools' Association can be found in our gallery.
